'A Bite of China' -ALL ABOUT FOOD AND CULTURE

I posted a blog that topic about food & culture 2 weeks before, but cannot find it on my b blogger. I really want to share with you, my audience. Therefore I upload it again, hope you can access it successful.

'A Bite of China' fills viewers' hearts and stomachs.

The documentary series "A Bite of China", that produced by China Central Television, debuted kicking off a week-long surge in viewer ship for CCTV-1 during the 10:30 p.m. time slot. This series has stirred heated discussion online, and episodes have been watched over 20 million times online. Most of the viewers felt that this TV program are not merely introducing about food but also letting people remember of the traditional local eating habits and local cultures.

"The food tells stories about most ordinary people in the remote corners of China, it is the most touching contents, it reminds me of my hometown, my mum's cooking and my childhood," said 28-year-old Wang Xin, one of the hundreds of thousands of viewers moved by the documentary.  I think this documentary can attract so many viewers to watch, that simply because it satisfy people's homesick feeling. A good psychological position for those displaced person. As Chen Xiaoqing, the director of the documentary-a famous Chinese food writer said that " No matter how far you go, no matter who you become, your stomach will still be your hometown stomach".

As a nation of food lovers, audiences were initially drawn to the series by good-looking food, but were later impressed by the human element. The documentary is trying to tell people about Chinese food but also the real China.

Refer to my own experiences, as the international student that lived in Adelaide now. I looked myself as one of the displaced person. I have been here five years and only come back to China once a year that I miss my hometown especially my hometown snacks very much. I also miss my mum's cooking even she cooked not so professional. I just miss that feeling of it.

I think All of displaced people that with same situation as me will love this documentary very much. Hope this article can let you remember of your hometown food and cultures. If anyone loves, just go to youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3J7rgxTzc0
